Cathy
began her dancing career in 1980 teaching clogging, western dancing and stage
productions. For 10 years she owned, and operated a dance studio named Star
Productions, which promoted 11 performing groups that traveled from coast to
coast. Special appearances included the Grand Ole Opry, Hee Haw, Gilley’s,
Disney World, Good Morning America, 1982 Knoxville World’s Fair, 1985 Kentucky
Derby and the grand opening with Dolly Parton at Dollywood’s Theme Park. She
was a regular for many country artists who include Lee Greenwood, John Anderson,
Johnny Lee, Jerry Reed, Conway Twitty and the Oak Ridge Boys.
Cathy is a member of American Alliance for Health, Physical Education,
Recreation and Dance, ShagAtlanta, and Atlanta Swing Dancers Club.
She has been choreographing and competing in line dance since 1995 and
has won numerous awards throughout
South Carolina
,
Tennessee
,
Florida
and
Georgia
.
In January 2003, Cathy placed 2nd Overall in Beginner/Novice Line
Dance Choreography and 4th in Large Troupe Cabaret at World’s 2003 Country Dance
Championship in
Nashville
,
TN.
This event is the largest of its kind attacking over 7,000 contestants from all
over the world showcasing in Swing, Country, and Line Dance.
As the previous
Georgia
’s
Regional Director for National Dance Week, Cathy organized a 10-day celebration of
dance throughout the metro
Atlanta
area in 2002 introducing many styles of dance to the non-dancing
public. This event attracted hundreds of visitors. Cathy has pledged to continue
supporting NDW mission to “heighten the awareness of Dance and its
contribution to our culture”. Based on her contribution and promotion of dance
over the past 23 years, Cathy was inducted into The National Bopper’s Hall Of Fame

Cathy served as the Dance Coordinator for the Savannah Shag-Beach Bop
Etc. Club, Director and Choreographer for their exhibition dance team named
“Beach Magic Dance Production Team” 2003 and 2004. In
2002 she served as the Dance Coordinator for the Atlanta Swing Dancers Club and
performed with the Step In Time Dance Team of Atlanta and Atlanta Swing Dancers
Club Exhibition Dance Team.
Cathy currently teaches weekly at
Cowboys in
Kennesaw
,
Georgia
,
Dominy School of Performing Arts in
Conyers
,
GA
and conducts private lessons at her home studio. She
teaches several styles of dance such as Line Dance, East & West Coast Swing,
Cha Cha and the Carolina Shag and has choreographed more than 75 Line Dance
routines. Most weekends you will find her on the road conducting workshops
throughout the Southeast at various clubs and for civic groups and club parties
or special functions. In addition to teaching Cathy has written step

Recently she has written a Dance Fundamental & Techniques Manual call
Let’s Talk Dance for all whom are, and inspire to be instructors. March 2005,
she introduced “Praise
Fitness”, as new creative ministry for Christians of every age,
ability and of all denominations. This
inspiring alternative fitness program offers a workout program within an
atmosphere of music with Christian lyrics where you can individually worship,
praise and glorify GOD through dance. For 2006, Cathy has designed a special
dance program showcasing Rumba, Salsa, Fox Trot, Waltz and Night Club 2 named “First
Dance”. Not only can she
teach you to dance, she can also choreograph a routine to your favorite music
for your first dance at your wedding or anniversary celebration.
